Are you ready to save the planet?
At Greenlyte, we are reshaping the global fuel economy with our novel, IP-protected, direct air capture to fuels technology, which shows superior economic potential compared to existing approaches, even reaching fossil prices. Backed by leading European VCs and with commercial agreement from Lufthansa and MB Energy, we are deploying our first commercial facilities to prove commercial viability in the next 12 months.
Our Process Validation Team scales up the electrolysers that release CO₂ from its captured state. As a working student, you work hands-on at electrolyser and stack level: you build, test and analyse larger-scale hardware that moves our technology toward industrial scale. No sandbox projects, just real hardware and real results.
Working Student Electrolyser & Stack Testing (f/m/x)
Essen
Part-time
Working Student
14,500 - 16,500 € per year
Let’s build the fossil-free future
How you'll contribute
- Assemble, disassemble and inspect electrolyser cells and stacks following defined build procedures
- Prepare and run tests on our larger-scale test stands, including pre-test checks such as leak testing
- Support accelerated stress tests (ASTs) to evaluate electrolyser durability
- Run degradation studies on key stack components such as membranes, electrodes and seals
- Perform post-test teardowns and failure analysis at stack and component level, and document root causes
- Analyse test data and turn it into clear, actionable findings for the team
- Keep the test area safe, organised and well documented
- Week 1–4: Get to know the team, our technology and our test stand setup. Learn our assembly procedures, safety standards and documentation practices. Support stack builds, test runs and teardowns under supervision.
- Month 2–3: Assemble and disassemble stacks independently. Run standard test protocols including ASTs, analyse results and maintain detailed test logs. Contribute to failure analysis reports and improve our documentation.
- Month 4–6: Own a technical workstream, such as AST protocol development, a component degradation study or stack failure analysis. Design hypothesis-driven tests and collaborate with modelling, systems, process engineering and our fundamental lab team. Optionally, scope a thesis project around your work.
