How you'll contribute
As VP Absorption, your role is at the heart of our technological advancement and performance, both immediately and in the long run. Specifically you will:
- Lead Absorption Technology Development: Take complete ownership and responsibility for advancing our absorption technology, guiding it through every stage of its lifecycle—from concept and prototyping to testing, manufacturing, deployment, and refinement. Your focus will be on enhancing the technology's robustness and field performance.
- Ensure Progress Through Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs): Monitor the progression of absorption technology across all TRLs, achieving key performance targets, and providing essential guidance on the technology's development to both your team and senior management.
- Drive Efficiency and Innovation: Promote cross-functional collaboration and innovation, increasing R&D productivity through internal networks, innovation committees, and shared tools. Your leadership will cultivate a culture of continuous learning and methodological rigor.
- Strategize for Innovation: Define the Innovation Strategy for the absorption technology team, ensuring that the diverse tasks of chemists, engineers, and process engineers are well-coordinated within two-week sprints and aligned with a comprehensive technology roadmap.
- Implement and Assess KPIs: Establish key performance indicators and metrics to quantify the success and impact of innovation initiatives, regularly reporting progress to stakeholders and leadership.
- Expand External Networks: Act as the face of the business in the broader community, fostering strong relationships with academic and industry experts to stay at the forefront of technological and market trends.
- Enhance R&D Productivity: Lead the implementation of shared tools and standards to streamline R&D efforts, overseeing laboratory experiments and ensuring adherence to guidelines, quality standards, and effective sharing of results.
- Knowledge Consolidation: Aggregate the rapid development of knowledge within the absorption technology organization into a comprehensive knowledge base, marking the current state of technology.
About you
We're looking for someone who is:
- A proven academic track record: Possessing a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s Degree with significant industrial experience will also be considered.
- Experienced: Bringing 3-5 years of industrial experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of delivering R&D programs to field environments.
- Management Savvy: Demonstrated exceptional management skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams towards achieving groundbreaking results.
- Passionate about Climate Solutions: Driven by a commitment to scaling climate solutions, taking action with a strong work ethic.
- Analytical and Organized: Exceptional at gathering and structuring information, driving informed decision-making processes.
- A Performance and Culture Leader: Eager and capable of driving high team performance and fostering a culture of joint achievement.
- Language Proficient: Conversational German is an advantage, though the primary working language is English.
